Getting paid

How Stripe payouts work

Stripe is the world's leading payments platform. Setting up takes about 5 minutes and your money lands directly in your bank account. shoppa.uk never holds your funds.

Apply to sell

Register your vendor account on shoppa.uk. Once approved (usually within 24 hours), you'll be prompted to connect Stripe.

Connect your Stripe account

Click "Connect with Stripe" in your vendor dashboard. You'll be taken to Stripe to create a free account (or connect an existing one) and verify your identity.

Start selling

List your products and go live. When a customer pays, Stripe processes the card and holds the funds temporarily while the order is fulfilled.

Get paid

Stripe pays out to your bank account on a standard schedule (typically 7 days after a payment, then daily once established). Direct to your account, every time.

shoppa.uk never touches your money

We use Stripe Connect, which means payments go directly from your customer's card to your Stripe account. Our platform fee is deducted automatically by Stripe before payout — we never hold funds on your behalf. This protects both you and your customers.

Frequently asked

How long does approval take?

We review all vendor applications within 24 hours. You'll receive an email as soon as a decision has been made. We approve the majority of applications — we're looking for genuine independent sellers with real products, not resellers of mass-market goods.

Do I need an existing online shop?

Not at all. shoppa.uk can be your entire online presence if you wish. You get a branded storefront, product listings, and a customer inbox — everything a standalone shop would give you, without the overhead of building and maintaining your own site.

What products can I sell?

Physical goods made or curated by independent UK sellers. We accept handmade items, small-batch products, artisan goods, independent brands, and niche physical products. We don't accept dropshipped goods from suppliers like AliExpress, counterfeit items, or anything that requires special licences we haven't verified.

Who handles customer returns and refunds?

You do, as the seller. You're responsible for your own returns policy and handling refund requests from customers. shoppa.uk provides the messaging infrastructure so customers can contact you directly through the platform. We recommend having a clear returns policy on your store page.

What if I already have a Stripe account?

You can connect your existing Stripe account during onboarding. This takes about 30 seconds — you'll log in to Stripe and authorise the connection. Your existing Stripe payout schedule and bank account details carry over automatically.

Can I set my own prices?

Completely. You set your own prices, run your own sales and discounts, and manage your own stock levels. We don't dictate pricing. The 10% platform fee applies to the sale price you set — we recommend factoring this in when pricing your products.

What happens if I want to leave?

You can close your vendor account at any time from your dashboard. Your product listings will be removed and no further sales will be processed. Any pending payouts will still be processed by Stripe on their normal schedule. There's no lock-in or exit fee.

Is the 10% negotiable for high-volume sellers?

If you're consistently generating significant volume, get in touch via the contact form and we'll discuss it. We're a small team and we're happy to have that conversation with established sellers.
